What is the Middle Years Program?
What is the Middle Years Program?
The Middle Years Program emphasize the principles of the International Baccalaureate program: creative problem, solving, hands-on learning, student-led inquiry , global awareness, and community service.
Does the IB Program affect the current curriculum?
Does the IB Program affect the current curriculum?
The IB Program does not replace the current curriculum, but rather enhances it, fostering creativity for both students and teachers. Students will continue to learn traditional subjects, meeting all state academic content standards.
The International Baccalaureate framework allows students to see connections among the subjects they study and to apply them to real life, encouraging global thinking, and supporting the development of effective communication skills.

The application process consists of the following:
Completing the Application at this link: https://mcallenisd.schoolmint.net/
If you are a Transfer student into McAllen ISD, you will need to also complete the Transfer Application Portion on School Mint.
Upload first semester report card grades to your application
If you are unable to upload, email them to the IB Coordinator with your full name.
Upload the most recent state exam scores or other standardized exam scores (if applicable) to your application
If you are unable to upload, email them to the IB Coordinator with your full name.
Submit two core teacher emails (of current school year) within your application
The IB Coordinator will send these teachers a Teacher Recommendation Form to complete on your behalf.
Student Interview
You will be contacted with a date and time.
