Michael Kaleta
Basketball
Michael delivered a great game against Athens for the Red Tornadoes during the regular season. He recorded 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists to top his senior night on the court. It was his best overall game of the year to help the team finish out the regular season with a home win. Michael then scored the game winning 3 point shot in the District Quarter Final game against Jersey Shore to send the team to semi-final round last night.

Danny Snyder
Basketball
n the Red Tornadoes recent game against Shamokin Area, Danny recorded a game high 21 points including two big free throws with 8.3 seconds left in the game to seal the win and send the team to the PIAA State Basketball playoffs. He is averaging over 10 points per game since earning a starting spot, and is currently second on the team with 38 3-point goals. Danny was also recently recognized with honorable mention honors of the PHAC league. He is a dedicated player, who brings great energy to the game and has been a key player for our team this season.

Tessa Fouspring
Track and Field
During last Tuesday’s meet against Warrior Run, Tessa achieved an incredible milestone by breaking the district High Jump record. The previous mark of 5’3”, set by Alison Wascavage Veach in 2001, had stood strong for 25 years. Tessa cleared 5’4”—a new personal best and an impressive way to kick off her sophomore season. Tessa is a quick learner who brings athleticism, persistence, and pride to our team. She is a dedicated competitor, who excels across all four sports she participates in and continues to strive with her hard work and determination.

Sadie Wetzel
Bocce
This is Sadie’s first year on the bocce ball team and she serves as our youngest player. She has been doing very well during both practices and games and has been the teams leading scorer! She encourages other teammates and always has a positive attitude. Aside from Bocce Ball she enjoys being our mascot, Twisty!

Lukas Carpenter
Wrestling
Lukas went 3-0 this week with three pins at the 152lb weight class. His pins were to Shikellamy, Muncy and Montoursville. He is a returning district qualifier and is starting to string together a nice win streak going into the postseason with sectionals coming up on February 14th. He is dedicated to the team and brings plenty of experience and leadership to our group.

Aryonna McGinley
Wrestling
Aryonna is a first year wrestler for MCA and has been part of our inaugural season with the addition to girls wrestling for our sports programs. As a senior, Aryonna wrestles at the heavyweight weight class. Her season record is currently 11 and 4 with the District meet happening this weekend in Williamsport. She placed fifth in the Winter Brawl at Williamsport, where all 29 teams from the district wrestled. She is set to wrestle this weekend with the seating of fifth in her weight class. She has been a great leader for our team this year and has plans to go to college to continue with her wrestling career.

Swimming
So far this season, Emby has qualified in the 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, and the 50 freestyle. He broke his own record this past weekend for the 500 yd freestyle with a new time of 5:29.54. He also took on diving this season and has been excelling, taking 1st in a few dual meets. In the off season, Embry is also involved in cross country, plays drums in the band, and competes in Triathlons qualifying for Nationals. Embry is always one to jump in and give a hand to any teammate who may need it and is truly an asset to anything he is involved in.

Jude Lazicki
Basketball
In the first two games of the season, Jude has showcased outstanding play during the Tornadoes 2 and 0 start. Lazicki opened his junior campaign with a monster 32-point effort in the opener with Selinsgrove last week. It was his 5th game with 30 or more points during his career thus far. He followed that up with a 23-point game in the win over Tamaqua on Saturday. Jude is currently averaging 27.5 ppg, 13.5 rebounds pg and 3.5 assists pg. He has 937 points in his HS career as a junior, and will be approaching the 1000 point mark hoping to join only 15 others who have reached that plateau in boys basketball at MCA.

Basketball
On the season, Hannah is averaging 10 points per game and 9 rebounds per game. She is a captain of this year's team and scored a game high of 14 points to help MCA in a big win against 5A Shikellamy last week. Hannah is an extremely dedicated player who works hard at her craft while bringing a great deal of experience and leadership to the court. Wrestling
Keegan recently went 5-0 at the PHAC Division 2 Duals recording three pins over Montgomery, Milton and Danville wrestlers. On the season Keegan is 14-5 and currently is ranked in the top 10 in District IV. He is a dominant force on and off the mat and shows great leadership towards his team.

Raina Paulson
Basketball
Raina scored 12 points against Mifflinburg and 20 points each against Bloomsburg and Jersey Shore at the SCA Tournament this past weekend for the Lady Tornadoes. In the team's first league game on Monday, she scored 13 points against Shamokin to capitalize on the 19-16 win. She is currently a captain of the 8th grade team and is a dynamic player both offensively and defensively. She is averaging 16 points a game, and is a great leader and mentor to her teammates!

Cross Country
At the recent PHAC Championship meet, Anna ran a 24:09 timed race, and then ran her personal best at last week's home meet with a time of 23:20. Each week Anna has been improving her times and has constantly portrayed a positive attitude. She has been extremely dedicated to her craft, and shows a great amount of leadership towards her team. This coming Thursday, Anna will compete in the PIAA District Championship meet which is set for Thursday, October 14th at Bloomsburg University.

Jason Klokis
Football
Jason Klokis. During Friday night's game against Shamokin, Jason paced the Red Tornadoes with 13 total tackles against the Indians. The effort brought his season total to 83 tackles and his career total to 207. This marks the first time in MCA history that a player surpassed the 200 mark during his sophomore season. Jason also scored the first touchdown of the game on Friday which helped the Big Red gain a lead over Shamokin for the majority of the game. He continues to be a force on both sides of the ball and we look forward to watching his success in the playoffs.

Soccer
Majed scored 2 goals and had 1 assist in Boys soccer Schuylkill League quarter final win over Tri Valley. This win was the program's first playoff win in school history. Majed also had a goal in the District 4 opening game against Montoursville which represented another first for the program in a District playoff. The boys soccer team ended their season and Majed was named to the 2nd team Schuylkill League all star team.

Mackenzie Lubinski

During Saturday's competition at Cumberland Valley HS, Mackenzie was able to execute all of her stunts in the routine to help her team improve on the mat in preparation for their goals this year. Mackenzie is a junior flyer, who has been working on adding difficulty within stunt sequences and pyramids, always maintaining a positive attitude and working on her skills to perfect them each week. She is quick to learn a new skill, and is constantly putting in time and effort for the betterment of the team. You can find her always with a smile on her face and bringing energy to the mat all while helping her teammates do the same. During last week's game against Pine Grove, Bella had 3 aces, 7 kills and 17 digs for the Raiders. She is a key player to the team this year, and is constantly portraying a positive attitude as well as showing a great deal of dedication to the sport. Aside from volleyball, Bella is part of the sideline and competitive cheerleading teams, basketball and track and field teams. She is an excellent example to her peers that hard work truly does pay off!

During Friday night's game against Hughesville, Max contributed greatly for the Big Red. He finished the game with 9 tackles which increased his team lead to 62, had 4 tackles for loss, 2 half sacks and 1 pass defended. He now has 259 career tackles with 38 for loss, and is slowly approaching 300 tackles for his career. Max's maturity as a player and leadership to our team have been constant throughout this entire season. Join us in congratulations Max on being named this week's Athlete of the Week! Aubriella plays the position of right fullback for the Lady Tornadoes. During the battle for the Coal Shovel against Shamokin on this past Saturday, she played her position expertly by having not one, but two, goal-line clearances. Aubriella is continuously doing whatever it takes for her teammates and brings infectious positivity to the team. We look forward to watching her grow in this sport over the next two years.

Gavin Marshalek
Football
After this past Friday's win at Central Mountain, Gavin has now moved into sole possession of 8th place on MCA's all-time list with 3,241 passing yards. His 233 pass completions rank 6th, and his 29 career touchdowns rank 9th. Gavin has been the starting QB for the Red Tornadoes for the past two years and has recorded 11 100-yard games during his time. Additionally, he is a captain of this year's team who is currently sitting at 5-4 on the season with two regular season games left to play and a playoff run on the horizon.

Jaylen Delaney
Football
During Friday night's game against North Schuylkill, Jaylen had his usual contributions for the Big Red. He rushed 5 times for 50 yards including a 61-yard touchdown run. Delaney also caught 2 or 4 passes for 33 yards and 1 touchdown of 25 yards. He also contributed defensively with 2 solo and 3 assisted tackles for a total of 5 including a 12 pass breakup. Jaylen's leadership skills were quite apparent as a game captain in MCA's home opener for the 2025-2026 season!

Ebin Hine
Cross Country
So far this cross country season Ebin has run 17:54 minutes and 16:57 minutes receptively during the first two meets of the season. The 16:57 run at Montoursville yesterday edged a personal best for his career. This season, Ebin has constantly portrayed a positive attitude, is extremely dedicated to this sport, and shows a great amount of leadership towards his team.

Josh Miller
Soccer
Josh has been doing double duty this fall as a member of the Red Tornado Football Team as well as the Our Lady of Lourdes Co-op Red Raider Soccer Team. During Friday's football game, Josh kicked off 4 times for a 56.0 yard average including one touchback. On the season, Josh has averaged 53.4 yards on his 16 kickoffs and has added 5 touchbacks, greatly aiding the kick coverage and opponents starting position. On the soccer field, Josh has two assists during Saturday's game against Pottsville and is a dominant force to the team's success.

Mallory Forti
Cheer
Mallory has been a member of the cheerleading team for the last six years, and has been a crucial part of the program's success over the years. This past Friday during pregame of the varsity football game, both the MCA and SCA cheerleaders participated in a "Flipping Crazy" fundraiser which raised funds for the Tripp Family. During the fundraiser, Mallory was able to showcase 16 back handsprings in a row, the most of all cheerleaders who participated that night. Earlier this year, Mallory was named one of the captains of this year's team, and her positive influence on her teammates has been constant thus far.
