This is a course presented by the Whakaoriori Kāhui Ako based on the work of Tangata Tiriti-Treaty People. This is a full day workshop (9-3:30) usually held at the Netball Courts. The cost is $35 per person, with morning tea included. We will cover the history leading to the signing of the Treaty, what the Treaty says, colonisation and its implications today. The training uses a visual and interactive adult education approach in plain English.
"The learning helps me as a pākehā acknowledge the intergenerational mamae of my Māori students - and encourages me to own my personal beliefs and learn more to progress my knowledge and actions from this knowledge”
"The truth, the hurt, the sadness of our story"
"We are seeing benefits immediately from staff and students who have done the course. "
