CEDAW Youth Miriam College Chapter is a student feminist organization that aims to promote the importance of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). We are committed to driving change by challenging gender norms, fostering inclusivity, and empowering individuals of all genders to dismantle systemic barriers to equality. We strive to build an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered to take action. Our goal is to create a future where gender equality is not just an ideal, but a reality for everyone.
MISSION
CEDAW Youth Miriam College Chapter is a student feminist organization that aims to promote the youth’s awareness of the importance of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW, 1979). It also intends to develop the leadership of young women and increase their awareness and sense of responsibility in the campaign for women’s rights and gender equality for all.
VISION
To be an inclusive and safe space for MC CEDAW Youth members, the MC student body, and for everyone that may encounter the organization regardless of gender, race, age, religion, culture, nationality, political opinions, or ideology. MC CEDAW Youth also envisions a world wherein every single person, not just feminists, are made aware of women's rights and issues, and will join the fight towards achieving a just, inclusive, and equal society.
F - Foster Inclusivity
Create a welcoming and supportive environment, valuing diversity in all forms - beliefs, gender, age, race, background, and more. Encourage the people to be their authentic selves, promoting self-identity.
E - Empower All Voices
Ensure every individual is given the platform to express themselves. Amplify voices and commit to listening to all perspectives and viewpoints.
M - Mobilize Action
Take proactive action beyond words to create real change. Channel collective ideas into meaningful actions that leaves a positive impact on people and inspire them to contribute to the cause.
I - Ignite Innovative Solutions
Encourage new ideas, strategies, creativity, and problem-solving that can solve real-life problems. Find practical and sustainable solutions that can drive change.
