Aligned with the QUALITY POLICY of Miriam College, the Higher Education Unit (HEU) commits to provide quality education through the improvement of its Quality Management System.

In the center of this system are our learners, grounded in MC spirituality, who are leaders and advocates of truth, social justice, gender equality, women’s empowerment, ecological integrity and peace.

Guided by the educational philosophy of Miriam College of being learner-centered, innovative thinkers, and service oriented, the College joins the institution in honing students who are:

independent thinkers - collaborative and are problem solvers,
effective communicators - tech savvy and information literate,
optimistic and resilient - aware of self-care and personal development,
globally informed and locally empowered, and are
life-long learners - knowledgeable in their disciplines and continue to pursue in depth disciplinal skills

Together, there are 14 degree-granting departments and six general education areas under the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASE) and School of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (SBEA).

In this ecosystem, SASE and SBEA are side by side. The innovations that we are exploring together, guided and in partnership with our institutional leaders, allow for not only a multi- or inter- disciplinary collaboration but a transdisciplinary approach that has quality, is sustainable, and is relevant.
