At MBA, we understand that many families live far from school and it can be stressful to send your children on the train every morning.
We have partnered with a company called CAASS, which has created a free application for iPhones and Androids that notifies you when your child swipes into the school building. This is your confirmation that your child has arrived to school safe and sound.
The application will also notify you if your child enters school late. Chronic lateness is one of the major reasons for low grades and learning loss. At MBA, we commit to work with you to give you the information so you can work with your child to address this issue. Students who are chronically late 30 minutes every day end up missing 90 hours of school in a school year, which would be equivalent to 15 entire school days.
To register on the app, first open the registration email that was automatically sent to you. If you have not received your registration email or cannot locate it, please reach out to Elianne Jimenez, our parent coordinator, at ejimenez@mbanyc.org
The email will prompt you to download the CAASS parent app. It is available both for Android and iPhone.
Once you have downloaded the app, click on the link below the QR code to register with Android or iPhone:
Then, it will ask you to enter your email address, your first name, last name, your language of choice and create a password. Once you have created your account, you can open the App and log in with the email address and the password you have created.
Your next step is to go in the setting (using the gear icon) and make sure you enable all notifications. We are are not using CAASS for bus location, class cut, incidents and other school notifications but we recommend enbalbing everything on the app just to keep it easy. Once you have done this, you will start receiving notification when your child swipes their ID card as they arrive in the morning.
