A New Sport enters Maysville

Industrial Arts instructor Bob Kiely is credited with bringing cross country to Maysville. At the time, it was a relatively unknown sport among smaller schools in the region. He spent the April and May of 2007 recruiting athletes to join the new team for the next season. Coach Kiely recruited 5 girls and 7 boys to join the team. Their first meet was in Maryville. Heidi Johnson was the lone state qualifier that season.

Coach Kiely moves on, Coach Hahn takes over program

Coach Kiely took a teaching job closer to his home. This opened the door for Jeff Hahn to step in and take the reigns. Coach Hahn had previously coached football, wrestling, and track at Maysville. The freshmen twins, Brittany and Brandy Helfery, both qualified for state in 2008.
