Not having school means the way the day looks is going to be vastly different for most of us. Having a schedule can help to provide routine and structure to what can feel like a very unstructured moment in our lives. Below is one idea of how to organize the day sent by Fitchburg High School.
It is also important to remember what they say about best laid plans! Don't stress if your day does not go as planned. Remember to practice self care and use strategies to help cope with anxiety and stress.
Get up – 8:00-9:00 a.m. (Breakfast and help around home)
Academic time – 9:00-10:30 (Practice instruments, read and/or use learning apps if you do not have access to a book.)
Exercise/Well-being time – 10:30 (Remember to take care of your personal well-being. Anyone can practice some pushups, planks, wall chairs, or burpees in the smallest spaces. If you don’t feel confident with exercise, a minute of deep breathing is also beneficial for the mind and body).
Lunch – 12:00-12:30
Chores/Service – 12:30 (Try to help around the home and wipe/disinfect doorknobs, sink and other bathroom handles, counters)
Communication – 1:00-2:00 (Stay in contact with friends and family daily but also try not to let social media become a distraction or 24-7 activity).
Academic enrichment time – 2:00-3:00 (Get back to making yourself better other academic enrichment and learning tools
Creative time – 3:00-4:00 (Stimulate your brain with games, drawing, puzzles, knitting, picture collages, etc., etc. Check out this great site - Arts/Culture)
Free time – 4:00-5:00
Fresh air – 5:00-6:00 (Try to get outside for a little while and breathe in some freshness. Just remember to keep distances and avoid any groups).
Dinner – 6:00-7:00 (Help prepare and clean up)
Free time – 7:00-???
Bedtime – ??? (Try to stay in a similar routine to what you do during a school week)
