The projects below are just some that I think might be relevant to future teams. While writing this document I realized just how much incredible work each individual had done. These short profiles only capture the tip of the iceberg and are meant to sketch a profile for recruiters.
There were many other amazing people who worked at Mauqa over the last 3 years. They moved on to other great companies. Following is a list of Mauqa’s current employees only.

Maham joined us only a couple of months back, but she has already demonstrated her skills as a digital marketer. In a very short time despite being totally new to our service and organization, Maham identified many areas in marketing where we performed poorly, set up the tracking mechanisms for performance marketing and developed the high level strategy going forward. Maham is by far the best marketing manager I have worked with (and I used to lead advertising for major brands in the country).
Key projects (underway):
Email marketing - select tool , identify segments and create content
Roles that suit her best:
Marketing Manager
Performance Marketing

Rehmina joined us as an intern while still in college. We waited one full year for her to complete her degree and then asked her to join us as a full-time team member. She has been handling all of helper recruitment and management in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Full of energy and spunk, Rehmina has visited the deepest corners of all slums in the two cities to recruit helpers.

Key projects:
Mauqa’s first (and complete) Operations Manual
Multiple product features that were developed because Zeshan highlighted the issues
Mauqa’s Operations outsourcing to a Call Center (Training and development of agents)

A workhorse! Naheed managed all of the operations single-handedly when we were recovering from the pandemic’s first wave. For the last 6 months, Naheed has put in long hours and even weekends to ensure there are no operational issues. Mauqa owes its post-pandemic recovery to Naheed.
Key projects:
All coordination and firefighting with helpers - the most taxing work ever
Roles that suit him best:

Aamna has been the voice of Mauqa (literally). All communication with customers went through her. Aamna designed our communication templates and single-handedly managed all customer issues and concerns.
I loved how she would challenge us all in our team meetings every week with insights from customers. She busted many of our assumptions and helped us build better processes.
Key project:
Training our newly inducted call-center on communication with customers
Roles that suit her best:
Customer experience management
Social media management

The fastest self-learner ever! Safeer joined us straight out of college and was in the difficult position of not having a line manager who could help him learn the ropes. Yet Safeer took it on himself to learn SQL queries and PowerBI on his own. In the span of a few short months, Safeer is now our very reliable (and only) source of data and insights.
Key projects:
Cohort analysis for helper acquisitions
Identifying fraudulent payments / rides
Helpers Performance Management System
Weekly Discounts Metric
Role(s) that suit him best:

Zeeshan joined us only a couple of weeks back, but he was able to demonstrate the ability to learn quickly. Agency led helper acquisition activities
Roles that suit him best:

Entry-level roles in operations/supply chain and logistics
Started as a junior Android developer, and then learned iOS development on his own to take over that role too (after the first COVID lockdown). Very fast learner who has single-handedly managed all Android and iPhone development for us. When the team lead resigned (to take care of her child), Shahrukh took over as the Team Lead too. Together with Aqib (below), he has been interviewing candidates for all tech roles (including their manager!)
Key projects:
Check out our Android / iOS apps … they’re entirely his babies
Integrations with payment gateways (first JazzCash, then ForeePay)
Roles that suit him best:
Senior Front-end engineer
Senior Mobile Application Developer
Technical Team Lead
Developed, and then single-handedly managed, the brains of our tech platform (we call it the Agent Engine - AE). The AE handles all job assignments & scheduling, helper/customer profiles, Bykea ride bookings, automated robocall triggers and much much more. It’s a remarkable piece of software that we are especially proud of and totally reliant on. Aqib had overall responsibility for the AE, and neither Aqib nor his AE has ever let us down!
Aqib also does server deployments!
Key projects:
Multiple back-end integrations, including Bykea (automated ride bookings for helpers) and Infobip (for helper communication), ForeePay, Safepay

Maarif is probably the most versatile and well-connected person I have come across at his age. He joined the Supply & Operations department when we didn’t really have technical systems, then moved to the SQA role in the tech team. He has sound knowledge of software testing and agile methodologies across platforms. In each role, Maarif has thrown himself completely and taken up every challenge while always being the glue that binds the entire organization.
Key projects:
New order flow testing
Product design & testing for Bykea’s integration
Envisioned and executed our first Helper Mela - an initiative to engage with our helpers and their families that led to greater helper recruitment and reduced churn
Roles that suit him best:
SQA engineer
Operations Manager
Event Manager

Khushbakhat handles SQA for us. An incident from her interview is telling: the tech team gave her a test to find quality issues in an upcoming feature. Khushbakhat identified problems that the team had not even recognized at that moment. Since she joined the team, Khushbakhat continues to watch over all feature releases like a hawk. Not a single bug has gone into production with her around.
Key projects:
Helped design the automated Helper Performance Management solution (when we were operating without a Product Manager)
Roles that suit her best:
SQA engineer
Assistant Product Manager
