About Me
I was born and raised in Pemberville, Ohio where I attended Eastwood High School. It is a very small town outside of Bowling Green. I have a three year old daughter, Keagen, and a 4 month old son, Jaxson. When I get a spare moment, I enjoy watching all sports, coaching volleyball, and hanging out with our cat, Zoe, and dog, Zeke. Zeke is a Bernedoodle ATD certified therapy dog.
Education
I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education. Prior to counseling, I taught 4th and 5th grade for 9 years at Wayne Trail Elementary. As much as I loved the classroom, my dream job was to become a school counselor. During Covid, I got my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Arkansas State University.
Counseling Experiences
This is my fourth year as a school counselor. As a school counselor, I strive to meet all of my students needs through individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom lessons. Collaboration is key in the counseling field to make sure we are a team helping a child not only academically but also mentally.
About Me
I am from a small community called Ottoville, which is located in Putnam County - about 45 minutes west of Findlay. In high school, I played volleyball, basketball, and softball, in addition to being in the school band, in flag corps, the band field director, in choir, and in musicals. My husband is from Monroe, Michigan and we have three children - high school, junior high, and elementary age. My hobbies include sports, running, walking, reading, baking, and traveling.
Education
I graduated from The University of Toledo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught at Elida, Oakwood, and Fort Miami Elementary before relocating to Virginia. During this time, I completed my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from The University of West Alabama. Shortly thereafter, my family moved back to the Maumee area, and I taught additional years at Fairfield Elementary.
Counseling Experiences
For the past several years, I have been the school counselor at Fort Miami Elementary. I am excited to be stepping “into the middle” to connect with former students and families, meet new faces, and support all of the middle school students. The School Counseling Program is comprehensive in nature and strives to support ALL students by addressing topics of academic, emotional, personal, and social needs.
Woof! Woof! I am Zeke! I am a three year old Bernedoodle F1. That means my mom is part Bernese Mountain Dog and part Poodle. My dad is Standard Poodle. I am hypoallergenic which means I shed very little to not at all. I am 70 pounds and am already a "big" teddy bear. I love belly rubs, finding sticks larger than me, and playing fetch. I am ATD trained therapy dog that will come to school with my mom daily (as long as I stop getting sprayed by skunks). I am so excited to be able to hangout with kids all day long!
