About the Conference

This International Conference on Mathematical Modelling in Biological Sciences (M2BS 2021) to be hosted by the Department of Mathematics, National Institute of Technology Silchar in collaboration with the International Academy of Physical Sciences (IAPS) is intended to bring pioneering and upcoming researchers to a common platform to discuss the pressing issues on the pure and applied mathematics with the help of recent technology in biological sciences. This conference focuses on recent research related to any sub-branch of mathematics and its applications in epidemic problems, cancer problems, cardiovascular problems, and other areas of biological sciences. Young researchers are encouraged to give oral presentations during the conference. The best oral presentations will be awarded for each session.

The main objective of M2BS 2021 is to give a platform to mathematicians and biologists from different parts of the world to interact with each other and exchange their ideas. CONIAPS serves as an excellent platform to inculcate research interest among young minds on recent applications of pure and applied mathematics. M2BS 2021 welcomes contributions related to all traditional as well as modern areas of mathematics and its application in biology. Authors are invited to submit their papers; if accepted, will be scheduled for oral presentation in virtual mode.

About NIT SILCHAR

National Institute Of Technology, Silchar (राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, सिलचर) is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology of India and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Assam. In 2002 it was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. NIT Silchar is situated on the banks of river Barak and on a sprawling campus spread over 600 acres of land on the outskirts of Silchar city. It is strewn with beautiful lakes and hillocks. NIT Silchar is a fully residential Institution. At present it offers six undergraduate courses in Engineering, and a number of Post-Graduate courses in the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Computer Science & Engineering. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, along with Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Studies Department.

NIT Silchar has been ranked 46th in the country in Engineering category by NIRF 2020. NIT Silchar has been ranked in the rank band 601-800 for Engineering in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Ranking in 2021. NIT Silchar is ranked at 6th in India and 275 in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2020.

The Department of Mathematics is established along with the inception of the Institute. Since its establishment, the Department has ever been striving to provide quality technical education with core support to all engineering Departments. It imbibes a sense of professionalism in its students. To achieve such high standards it has extremely competent faculty members. It has a well-equipped computational fluid dynamics (CFD) laboratory, numerical computation laboratary, and many more. The Department lays special emphasis on R&D activities both on the part of the faculty members as well as the students.

About IAPS

International Academy of Physical Sciences (IAPS) was a dream of a group of scientists working in different fields of physical sciences. In view of the growth of scientific-technological knowledge and the experiences of its application for the betterment of human society; they realized that it would be increasingly difficult to draw a dividing line to sharply differentiate between the various branches of Physical Sciences. Keeping this fact in view they decided to form a common platform for interactive discussions and interdisciplinary approaches among the scientists involved in the pursuit of knowledge in different subjects. International Academy of Physical Sciences was founded with its headquarters at Allahabad on December 4, 1994, to meet the above goals and objectives. This culminated into a foundation conference in which several scientists from different streams deliberated on interdisciplinary approaches towards conflict resolution for world problems. The Academy is conceived as a scientific body incorporating various branches of Physical, Mathematical, and Earth Sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Geophysics and Geography, Computer Science, Informatics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, etc. The IAPS is a scientific organization of recent origin but it has already made its mark by involving in it through membership, fellowship, and activities, a large number of scientists of India and abroad, and its publications are helping in the expansion of scientific knowledge.

For more information, you can visit the IAPS website or CONIAPS-XXVII.
