Linear optimization turns allocation and planning questions into mathematical models. We will study the geometry and algorithms of linear programming, then extend these ideas to duality, sensitivity analysis, integer programming, transportation, and network-flow applications.

HOMEWORK
There will be 12 assignments, normally due Sundays at 11:59 PM. The two lowest scores are dropped automatically. No late homework is accepted unless an approved accommodation or documented exceptional circumstance requires another arrangement.
Lecture 1: Introduction and syllabus; formulating linear programs.
Lecture 2: Standard form, canonical form, matrix notation, and feasible solutions.
Assignment 1: Due Sunday, September 6, at 11:59 PM on Canvas.
