Teaching

Prior to my work at the University of Arizona, I taught science, mathematics, and computer science to high school and middle school students in Manhattan, New York. My responsibilities at the University of Arizona have involved assisting with Math 112 (College Algebra) and mentoring for Math 485 (Mathematical Modeling). A link to a YouTube channel containing some instructional videos can be found below.

My teaching philosophy takes inspiration from both athletic and academic coaching. Through teaching, I aim to help develop the whole student through curiosity-driven exploration, opportunities to practice science communication, and ethics discussions and exercises.  I feel that the importance of education is not just in learning technical content, but also in grappling with the appropriate applications of problem solving, research, and technological development within the broader context of historical, current, and future societal impacts.
