Our research enables us to fully grasp the flow dynamics within microvascular networks and resulting tissue oxygenation levels. Our results emphasize the role of vascular tone in regulating tissue oxygen delivery showing that alterations in arteriolar diameters correspond to significant changes in oxygen levels.Â
These findings enhance our understanding of microcirculatory dynamics and have implications for fields such, as tissue engineering, disease studies and treatments focused on enhancing tissue oxygen supply.
