March 21st - 5 little caterpillars arrived in the mail today! They are so tiny!

Conor - They are black.

Daniel - There are 5 caterpillars.

Ruby - They have food. 

Stevie - The caterpillars turn into butterflies.

Everett - They are a little over 1 cm long.

Drum roll, please 🥁 ... By popular vote, our caterpillars are named:

Crystal, Ranger, Boomer, Gummy, Cupcake

Carter - One is crawling on the side to get to the top.

Camryn - They are getting bigger and are now 2 cm long!

Zara - Just one is moving.

Eli - They look spiky.

Aria - They have eaten some food.

June - It looks like they are making spider webs.

Levi - They have webbing material their feet.

Landon - Some are sleepy.

Zara - They are growing. They are now 2-2 1/2 cm long!

Conor - They are fat!

Skylar - They look spiky but they might not actually be spiky. 

Camryn - They have a lot of poop in the cup now. 

Stevie - It got dirtier in the cup.

Sterling - We see a lot more silk or webbing in the cup.

Carter - They are all about 2 cm long but they are getting fatter.

Alexander - They are growing bigger.

Stevie - There is lots of poop!

Eli - Pieces of the caterpillar are coming off.

Skylar - The jar is messier than at first.

Mrs. Roll - They are 3 cm long now!

Lennon - They are all climbing to the top.

Harvey - They are moving.

JJ - They are awake.

Ronika - They are getting bigger. They are 4 cm long!

Daniel - There is much more waste in the cup! 🤮 

Skylar - They are getting way bigger! One of them is 5 cm!

Daniel - The cup is getting much more dirtier.

Lennon - 2 of the caterpillars are moving quickly.

Ruby - There is lots of waste!

Stevie - The waste chunks are getting bigger too.

Sterling - They are all 5 cm now!

Conor - They are fatter!

Eli - They are not that active when we get to school, so maybe they are more active at night.

Camryn - When we get to school they are still sleeping, but 3 of them are starting to move right now!

Aria - The bottom of the cup is messy and looks bumpy. 

Carter - One is getting ready to form it's chrysalis.

June - They are huge! They are still about 4-5 cm but they are huge!

Lennon - One is in a J-shape!

Stevie - There is less waste than the other morning. 

Harvey - 4 out of 5 of the caterpillars are at the top!

JJ - They are all hanging from the top!

Ronika - They are getting ready to go into their chrysalis. 

Alexander - There are no caterpillars at the bottom of the cup anymore. 

Izzy - There is still a lot of waste at the bottom.

Ruby - Some of them are shaking.

We finally have one butterfly! It must've come out sometime between school and recess!

We released the 2 that had emerged yesterday!
