Some instructors might send emails welcoming the class while others do not. We recommend students to check their Self-Service account prior to the semester starting.
If you need to connect with the instructor, you can find their contact information by clicking on the course title via your Self-Service account.
Search up your courses to view the list of books and materials as well as costs by visiting the Bookstore’s site: MATC Bookstore
To find out if a class has a waitlist, you will see a yellow notification that says “This section has a waitlist”
Follow the same steps for class registration, but instead of the blue button saying 'REGISTER' it will say 'WAITLIST’
If a student drops then the student who is next in line would be notified by an email sent to their MATC email account with permission to register
Students would be given about 48 hours or 2 days to go into their Self-Service account to actually click on the ‘REGISTER’ button
If a student does not register for the class then the permission to register would be given to the next student on the waitlist
Students can make sure of your placement on the waitlist by going to ‘Student Planning’ in Self-Service
It is recommended that students drop their classes before the classes start! This way you can know for sure that the charges will be dropped as well. Otherwise, if you were to drop after a class starts then you would mostly likely be left with a charge of that class
To drop a class you would follow the same steps as if you were going to register for classes. Instead of the blue button saying ‘REGISTER’ it should say ‘DROP’ Once you click on the ‘DROP’ button then it will ask you for a reason. Please select the appropriate option.
The class that you dropped would now say ‘PLANNED’
You can click the ‘X’ button to completely remove it from your semester schedule
