Proper dress attire must be maintained. This classroom will be the same as a worksite.
The classroom/lab provides several sets of common hand tools and test equipment needed for any students. We will instruct on proper use as many new students are not familiar with some hand tools. The student does not need to worry about bringing tools or test equipment.
We use the book: Troubleshooting and Repairing Major Appliances by Eric Kleinert, Third Edition available in our bookstore for $63.00. Amazon is also used by some students and there it is $47.00. Very important to get the 3rd Edition.

The students do not need tools or equipment for our program. We supply everything they will need at school, FYI we have agreements with a number of vendors to provide significant discounts to our students for the tools they will need when they gain employment in the field but we will explain that to them when the time comes.
Loose fitting work trousers with belt (work jeans, Dickey's, Carhart, khakis, etc.)
Long sleeve shirts
Cold weather gear (recommend students dress in layers during winter months)
Steal toe lineman boots with steal shank.
Hard hats (We can provide hard hats at purchase cost of $20).
Leather work gloves (summer gloves and insulated gloves for winter)
Clear and dark safety glasses. (We can provide at purchase cost of $5.00)
Prescription safety glasses are recommended for those with prescription eyewear. Otherwise "cover ups" will need to be worn over their prescription eye glasses.
We will have climbing gear for training. Eventually, students who feel confident enough to purchase their own climbing gear may do so through the MATC scholarship/grant program or self pay. Climbing gear costs are appx. $3,000 and will be power utility and contractor approved.
