CLASS CONTRACT
Dear Student:
In order to promote high academic achievement and a respectful learning community, please familiarize yourself with the following expectations for this class:
Student’s Agreement:
1. I will come to class on-time and be seated at my desk promptly.
2. I will be prepared with all supplies required for this class (see Supplies section).
3. I will begin working on the Do Now immediately. If there is no assignment on the board, I will review my class notes from the previous day, as I await further instructions.
4. I will, with my best effort, participate in all class activities for the entire duration of the period until I am dismissed by the teacher.
5. I will complete and submit classwork and homework on time.
6. I will not ask to use the bathroom unless it is an emergency. Please be advised that the bathrooms are closed during the first and last ten minutes of each period.
7. I will keep the classroom clean and orderly by not eating or drinking in class, not defacing school property, and throwing refuse in the trash bin at the end of the period.
8. I will be respectful to my teacher and classmates. I will not engage in negative behaviors: talking idly, making noises, cursing, napping, doing unrelated work, etc. If I wish to speak, I will raise my hand and wait to be called on before speaking. If I am experiencing a problem with another student, which cannot be peacefully resolved, I will notify the teacher immediately.
9. I will abide by all city- and building-wide school policies: dress appropriately, remove non-religious headwear, turn off and put away cellphones/electronic devices, including headphones/earbuds, etc. (see Chancellor’s Regulations).
10. I will communicate any concerns to the teacher as soon as possible.
