Hi there my name is Simon Gillespie and I am the 9+ 11th Grade Health and Physical Education teacher.  Pictured above is my beautiful wife Danielle and our 2 year old son Charlie ! I am originally from Ireland but moved to the United States in 2010 living in NYC until this year. I graduated from the University of Limerick in Ireland with a BSc in Physical Education and a Masters Degree in History and gained my Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate from Wilson College, PA. I worked as an Academy Director for a Professional MLR Rugby team and was an Athletic Director in NYC. 

This is my Third year at MAST3, I have taught gym class in Ireland, Brooklyn, NY for the Uncommon Schools Network and in the Central Bucks School District. This year we will be covering multiple topics in our Health and Physical Education classes we will cover all sorts of indoor and outdoor games including Basketball, Kickball, Football, Soccer as well as covering some personal fitness units like Dance, Yoga and learning all about using strength and cardio equipment. In our Health Units we will cover topics on wellness like mental and emotional health, family and social health, and current trends in society. Also, students will be introduced to a variety of health-related careers. My philosophy on gym class is that it should be a space for everyone to enjoy and develop their love of physical activity in whatever way their interests guides them whether thats gardening, sports or exercise.  I am also the High School JV Boys soccer coach this year in our first year of the program
