Welcome To My Page
I started teaching at MaST II at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. I acquired an Associate's Degree in Music at Bucks County Community College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from West Chester University. I have a passion for all concepts within the subject of music, and I am more than eager to work with my returning students among new faces this year.
Special Education
I began my teaching career right in the heart of the pandemic after graduating from West Chester University in May of 2020. I started out teaching as an Instructional Assistant at Klinger Middle School in Centennial School District as a part of their Autism Support Group.
Music Education
I worked for the remainder of the school year as a long-term substitute teacher at Tohickon Middle School in Central Bucks School District. While at Central Bucks School District I taught grades 7th-9th grade in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Guitar Lessons, and General Music.
Martial Arts Instruction & Ownership
Beyond my experience in formal education, my largest span of educational experience comes from my current position as the owner and head teacher/instructor at the Pagoda of the Martial Arts in Newtown, Pennsylvania. I have been teaching Jujitsu within the martial arts since 2010. As of now I have been teaching there for 14 years, and have been an owner of the martial arts school for 5 years. A lot of my experience in teaching young students is derived from this aspect of my educational career.
I have been involved in the world of music passionately for the last 21 years. I was six years old when my grandmother began teaching me piano. Since that day I have explored and experimented with just about any instrument I can get my hands on, and all styles out there. I began studying percussion under the direction of Professor Mark Pultorak at Bucks County Community College, and have carried that study to West Chester University under Professor David Nelson, and Dr. Ralph Sorrentino. Since my college studies of percussion I have continued to pursue these and many more instruments I have picked up out of a pure motivation to continue learning.
My Ensemble Experience: Bucks County Community College
While at Bucks County Community College I participated in the Concert Choir, and Madrigal Singers group as well as BCCC's own Percussion Ensemble. With the madrigal singers group at BCCC we had also sung the national anthem at Citizen's Bank Park one year.
My Ensemble Experience: West Chester University
During my studies at West Chester University, I was a proud member of the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band for two seasons in the Pit/Front Ensemble. I also participated in their Men's Chorus, Percussion Ensemble, and Concert Band.
Music and Martial Arts may be the biggest passions I have, but I am also proud to say that I am happily married to my wife Liz Williams, along with being a proud dog parent. I am passionate about spending time with all of my family. I also love all forms of fictional media, and have a passion for all forms of storytelling and literature.
My email is the primary way to stay in contact with me. Or else if your student is part of a club/ensemble you may also use the Remind thread for that particular club/ensemble along with leaving comments in that group's Google Classroom posts. My email is listed below:
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you :)
