Deadline to Submit Call for Workshop Proposals is January 5, 2026
The Massachusetts Council for the Social Studies (MCSS or Mass Council) is excited to host a one-day statewide Social Studies teacher professional development conference this spring on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
An exhibition will be held in the Oliver Wright building at Old Sturbridge Village. During this exclusive time, no workshop sessions will be conducted, allowing exhibitors to present a 20-minute overview of their services and programs to attendees, including Social Studies administrators.
Exhibitors should arrive by 9:30 a.m. to set up their stations. The exhibition session will run from 12:00 noon to 2:45 p.m. A hot lunch will be served in the general area, requiring attendees to visit the exhibition hall to collect their meals. Exhibitors can sign up for 20-minute presentations in classrooms near the exhibition hall at the following times:
12:15 - 12:35
12:40 - 1:00
1:05 - 1:25
1:30 - 1:50
Following the presentations, exhibitors will have dedicated time with Social Studies administrators during the workshop sessions at 2:00 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. After these sessions, exhibitors can dismantle their exhibits and depart.
The fee to participate at the one-day spring statewide conference is $250.00. Application and fee (a check made payable to Massachusetts Council for the Social Studies) must be submitted no later than Friday, January 30, 2026, provided space is available.
