I will be able to determine and measure the influence that the Industrial Revolution had on the formation of a working class, production of goods, increased urbanization, and living conditions for people.
The purpose of this Unit is to address students ability to analyze how the working class developed in the world as a result of the Industrial Revolution. Students will focus mainly on the working class throughout the lessons due to Massac County being a middle class/working class community. Students will be able to relate their own socio-economic environment and culture to the historical foundation in which they exist. This Unit fits in with the overall yearly goal of revealing how industrialism led to imperialism, which ultimately cause destabilization in the global market. An effect that many historians and economists relate to the rise of radical extremism, climate change, and inequality among the different social classes and minority groups.
