Chapter three is all about multiplication. Students will build on what they learned about multiplication from third grade and take it to the next level. In third grade, students mostly stuck to multiplying 1 digit by 1 digit. In fourth grade we will get to multiply up to 2 digits by 3 digits.
Students will still need to know how to round in order to estimate products. We will also use the Distributive Property frequently to help us break down larger problems into smaller, easier equations.
