What is Reading Room?
We will be working with students daily on reading skills. You may hear your child say that they come to the Reading Room for a little bit out of each day. We split a classroom into 4 small groups and work with each group on specific reading skills they need additional support on. We also monitor students weekly to determine their progress. Ask your child about what the do in Reading Room to learn a little more about their day.
About me
I have been married to my husband - Jeff since June 28, 2003. We have 4 children - Emma, Gavin, Reed, and Carter. We also love our animals. We have several dogs and cats. Our favorite breeds are the Poodle and Doodle. We love spending time outdoors and the beach is our favorite place
I started teaching in 2009. I taught 5th grade for a very long time and always loved teaching Reading. I even taught Reading to 5th and 6th graders for a few years. When I had my last baby - Carter, I took 3 years off to be with him. I came back to work and joined the Brookport family in 2020. I am very excited to be back in the classroom and getting to do my favorite thing - teach Reading!
