Hello! My name is Tina Benard and I am in my 34th year of teaching.  I taught 5th Grade at Metropolis Middle School for 5 years, then I began my journey into the Wonderful World of Kindergarten! I have been the kindergarten teacher at Brookport Elementary for 29 years.  

I have attended Massac County schools since kindergarten, and I graduated from Massac County High School.  I received an Associates of Science from Shawnee Community College, a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Murray State University, and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University. 

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 33 years and we have 2 boys.  Jay is 28 and Griffin is 23   Jay got married in the 2022, and I'm very excited to have a new daughter in law!  Griffin is getting married in 2025, and I'll have another daughter in law to love.    I have a dog that is like our kid, too! Wrigley is a chocolate lab.  I have a Tennessee Walking Horse named Tucker, and I LOVE to ride with my friends when I get spare time.  My favorite things to do are traveling, camping, hiking, and spending time outside.  I'm also learning to play Mahjong!  Most of all, I love being with my family.
