 General Calendar of Events: 

Late March/Early April: Purchase Livestock and Start Chore Schedule

April-July:

• Livestock Chores: 2-3 times /week

• Livestock Weigh-in: Once /week

• Walk/train your animals: 3-4 times /week

• Bathe: Rinse down every time you walk in summer, but only shampoo once a week. Conditioner is encouraged but optional.

• Deworm/Safeguard: 1st of the Month in April, May, June, July [Albrecht]

• Address health concerns/training plans/feed adjustments as needed

June 1: Swine Forms Due to the Fair Office

Mid-June: Fair Entries Due to the Fair Office

Mid-July:

• Take photos with animals

• Write buyer letter (We will do a buyer letter workshop)

• Deliver buyer letters

Late July: Prepare decoration signs, select show clothes, organize show supplies, etc. 

Last week of July/1st week of August: Ingham County Fair

• Saturday: Move in tack/supplies/waters/decorations

• Sunday: Move in/weigh in livestock

• Tuesday: Sheep Show

• Tuesday: Swine Show 

• Wednesday: Livestock Judging

• Thursday: Large Animal Auction

• Friday: Little International Showmanship Contest

• Saturday: Pen tear-down

August: Send/hand-deliver thank you notes and gifts to your buyers.
