Participant Information

Congratulations!  You were selected to participate in the 2024 River City Honor Band on Saturday, April 20th.  We hope you find your experience to be both challenging and rewarding.  The honor band conductors are excited to work with you.

To ensure your success and enjoyment of the day, we would like to provide the following information and suggestions:

Practice: Please be sure to prepare your music thoroughly.  All music should be learned prior to the honor band.  To aid in your practice, refer to the reference recordings on the River City Honor Band website. Links to the recordings are found to the right. 

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin at 9:30 am and run throughout the day. You will need to bring a folding stand and a pencil to use during the rehearsals and sectionals.  Please label your stand with your name and school.  There will be an area to store personal items (coats, cases, etc.).  Please refrain from bringing expensive items such as electronic devices or others that may be difficult to replace.  Students may wear comfortable clothes during the day.  There will be time to change prior to the concert.  

Breaks/Recess:  The day will include break time in which students may play outside or relax in the commons area.  Fun activities will also be available during the recess time. 

Lunch/Concessions:  Lunch is included as part of the registration fee. Concessions will be available at student cost during breaks.   

Concert:  The honor band concert will take place in the gymnasium at Lincoln Intermediate.  The concert will begin at 4:00 pm and will feature both the 5th and 6th grade honor bands.  Thank you in advance for acknowledging all of the students’ efforts by staying for the duration of the performance. Students should dress appropriately for the concert.  NO JEANS.   

Concert Admission:  Admission will be $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students and no charge for children 5 and under.  There will be a maximum of $20.00 admission charge per family.  

Souvenir T-Shirt:  A special River City Honor Band t-shirt is available for order.  All orders are made online. More information is included in your honor band folder or you may click the link to the right.
