Flex Time Activities
You will always have two options for "flex time" activities: the game board challenges or the "Strive for 25" reading race. We will have designated "Flex Days" throughout the year for you to work on these challenges. You can also work on them any time you finish classwork early, at home, or during 9th period. Your goal is to see how far you can get by the end of the year!
Every student will have their own copy of this game board. It will be kept in your ELA folder. As you finish each challenge, be sure to color in the space to track your progress! Students who finish the game board by the end of the year will earn a special prize.
Finished with a game board space?
Submit a virtual token to count toward your class period's total points! Each week we will tally the tokens. At the end of marking period two, the class period with the most will win a movie during lunch!
You must be signed in to your MASD Gmail account to submit tokens.
In ELA, we also have a reading challenge to see how many books you can finish by the end of 6th grade. You will "Strive for 25" books and keep track of all the titles in your reading log. Each student will keep a copy of this document in their ELA folder.
For every 5 books you read, you get to show off your progress with a locker tag!
