Hello and welcome! My name is Miss Lerew, and I am so excited to begin my first year teaching fifth grade at Elmwood Academy. I recently graduated from Shippensburg University in May 2025, and I feel incredibly grateful to start my teaching journey in such a wonderful school community. This year, I will be teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies. I cannot wait to explore engaging literature, build strong writing skills, and dive into history with your child.
One of my top priorities is to create a warm and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected, challenged, and supported. I believe students thrive when they know they are safe, encouraged, and appreciated for who they are. My goal is to help each child grow academically, socially, and emotionally by fostering a positive community where curiosity and kindness are celebrated.
I also strongly believe that open communication and teamwork between home and school are key to a successful year. When we work together—whether it’s staying in touch through updates, celebrating progress, or problem-solving as a team—we create the best possible support system for your child. Together, we can nurture their love of learning, build confidence, and help them achieve amazing things.
I am truly looking forward to getting to know you and your child. It is going to be a fantastic year full of growth, discovery, and meaningful moments!
