You do not need to be in a major life or death crisis to reach out and ask for help. These lines are there to help us through the minor crisis as well as the major crisis.

Its super important that we keep a healthy routine, especially in times of crisis and then having connections with others is also important. Below are some links to an activity that could help you with both of these.
December is all about Impaired Driving Awareness. Dream Makers are working social media posting. On our social media pages we will have reasons kids are above the influence of Driving Impaired. We will also have the most up to date facts and ways to encourage others to be safe.
We are also posting parent information on the White Swan Community Coalition Page.

We are stepping up our prevention game this new year. 2020 brought challenges and victories as well.
We have learned so much on how we need to do our prevention virtually.
So, look forward to seeing more videos and pictures of our youth spreading the word.
Our focus in January will be on Tobacco Prevention.
January 5th: We will be recording the High School/Middle School doing the "Smoking Stinks" play. We will then be sharing this video with Kinder-2nd grade. Here they will get the message of how important it is to be smoke free, to keep them healthy and seeing the effects smoking can have on a person. All of this is placed at a level that our younger kids can understand. It is pretty amazing.
January 6th: We will be starting our Nicotine Awareness Kahoot Planning. Once the Kahoot is completed we will be sending it out to the students to play and possibly win a prize.
January 13th-January 20th: Kahoot will be published to grades 4th-12th.
We are super excited to see how all this goes.
Alcohol Awareness is also on our radar for January 2021!
We will be working on "8 things you need to know about alcohol that the alcohol industry doesn't want you to know" Presentation. Here we will record the presentation for the High School and working on getting into the Middle School Health Classes.
Down in Harrah we are working on 6th grade completing a Samantha Skunk Video around Prescription Safety.
January is going to be a busy month for our wonderful Dream Makers, but so worth it!
In November we placed 200 stickers on the Lunch bags being sent home.
In this section you have two examples of what our stickers look like.
Our message is to educate the school and community on impaired driving and alcohol effects on youth.
We know that between Marijuana and Alcohol the perception of it being normal for teens to drink and smoke is out there. We are hoping through our messages we can share the effects both have on youth and others.
Keep an eye out for more stickers to come.
Mindfulness can be a very helpful tool during stress and anxiety. Below you will find videos for you and your kids to do together. To begin learning another coping skill to place in their coping skills tool box.
