English
The MHS English Department seeks to develop students as confident readers and writers who interact meaningfully with text, make connections among texts, communicate effectively, and develop a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing.
Our students will employ strategies to write well, speak and listen competently, incorporate research effectively, and comprehend literature independently.
In our classrooms, we will provide opportunities for student choice, peer collaboration, and sustained reading and writing.
