STEM Across the Globe

With the ever-changing demands across the globe, it has become very apparent that we need to prepare our youth to problem solve and provide solutions to the challenges of the future. Real world issues require students to use their critical thinking as well as enrich their science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills. STEM has become a focal point in today's teaching. In the schools the inclusion of 'Arts' changes the title, but not the focus. Project Based Learning (PBL) is the basis of this program leading to engineering and design. This program would encourage girls as well as boys to take an active interest in STEM careers.

Vision: Implementing and enriching a STEM education within the African Diaspora and across the globe.

Mission: “STEM Across the Globe” is an initiative to introduce educators to the possibilities of STEM, in education. Educators will collaborate and implement STEM Project Based Learning in their own classrooms from preschool through college. Our sustainable mentorship program allows students, teachers, faculty, staff, as well as the local communities to become lifelong STEM learners.

"STEM Across the Globe" was initiated by Dr. Usha Rajdev in July of 2019 in Uganda. Dr. Rajdev is currently collaborating and mentoring Ms. Rachel Cotton to expand the work beyond Uganda and to the rest of the African Diaspora. They will continue this work across the globe.
