Meet Dr. Laura Fitzgerald, a higher education leader, researcher, and coach with nearly a decade of experience in student engagement and leadership development. Most recently, she served as the Director of Student Engagement and Leadership at St. John Fisher University, where she designed and led impactful programs that empowered student leaders and fostered an inclusive campus community.
Dr. Fitzgerald earned her EdD in Educational Leadership and Organizational Innovation from Marymount University. Her research examined the application of the GROW coaching model in student government settings, investigating how coaching frameworks can support leadership development and reflective practice among undergraduate leaders.
With a leadership coaching and facilitation background, Dr. Fitzgerald has supported students and early-career professionals in clarifying their goals, building self-awareness, and developing strategic thinking. Her coaching is grounded in evidence-based models and a commitment to student development theory.
In addition to her work in higher education, Dr. Fitzgerald enjoys international travel and outdoor exploration, drawing inspiration from diverse environments and cultures.
Dr. Fitzgerald’s professional expertise includes student affairs, leadership development, and coaching methodology, focusing on supporting growth in purpose-driven individuals and teams.
