A liberator is a person that free's people from imprisonment. The liberators infiltrated the concentration camps and freed all the Jewish people from them the largest camp which was called Auschwitz.
Liberators came from different countries, including the United States, the Soviet Union, Britain and Canada, and provided assistance and relief to Jewish prisoners. Houston was home to over 50 WWII liberators, some of whom provided Holocaust Museum Houston with oral testimonies describing their experiences.
