The Environmental Sedimentology Lab
About us
The Environmental Sedimentology Lab is dedicated to study natural and anthropogenic processes in marine, lacustrine and terrestrial environments. Scientific curiosity triggers us, and the social benefits of our research lead us.
Our studies focus on (1) paleoclimate and climate change, (2) geo hazards such as submarine mass flows and flashfloods, and (3) environmental pollution and its implications. Most of our projects are field-based, but we also use virtual and digital datasets to endorse our hypotheses. We integrate a variety of sedimentological, geochemical and biogeochemical proxies, use models and experimental procedures, and often include historical and social information, all to create a holistic interpretation.
You are welcome to explore our website to become acquainted with our group members, to get insights into our projects and to learn about opportunities to join us.
