During the last weeks, the students from Grans Atzur have been working on the “Winter Holidays Project” in English class. Through this project, they discovered how different countries and cultures celebrate special festivities during the months of December and January.
The children worked in pairs to research a winter celebration from around the world. They read texts, selected important information, and prepared a short oral presentation for the rest of the group. Each presentation explained what the celebration is, who celebrates it, where and when it happens, how people celebrate it, and why it is special.
While one pair was presenting, the rest of the class listened carefully, asked questions, and shared feedback using “stars” (strong points of the presentation) and “wishes” (things that could be improved). This helped students learn how to give respectful and helpful comments.
This project helped students improve their English skills, their oral communication, and their confidence when speaking in front of others. It also encouraged curiosity, respect, and interest in cultures from around the world.
Durant les darreres setmanes, l’alumnat de Grans Atzur ha treballat el “Winter Holidays Project” a l’assignatura d’anglès. A través d’aquest projecte, han descobert com diferents països i cultures celebren festivitats especials durant els mesos de desembre i gener.
Els infants han treballat per parelles per investigar una celebració d’hivern d’arreu del món. Han llegit textos, han seleccionat la informació més important i han preparat una petita exposició oral davant de tot el grup. A cada presentació han explicat què és la festivitat, qui la celebra, on i quan se celebra, com es duu a terme i per què és especial.
Mentre una parella exposava, la resta del grup escoltava amb atenció, feia preguntes i compartia valoracions utilitzant “estrelles” (punts forts de la presentació) i “desitjos” (aspectes a millorar). Aquesta dinàmica ha ajudat l’alumnat a aprendre a donar opinions respectuoses i constructives.
Aquest projecte ha permès als infants millorar les seves habilitats en anglès, l’expressió oral i la confiança a l’hora de parlar davant dels companys i companyes. També ha fomentat la curiositat, el respecte i l’interès per altres cultures del món.
