Welcome to the Elementary page for Marlette Schools!

This ensemble consists of grades 5-6, and is dedicated to the proper development of skills and habits to be successful in the Marlette band program. The students meet 3 times a week; once a week as a full band, and twice a week in smaller group with like instruments. There will be numerous playing opportunities in the classroom, and a few outside including the spring concert. This page contains many resources that can highly benefit their learning experience and include youtube videos, websites, and other how-tos and tutorials.

Dollar Tunes

I will still be holding the ability to gain dollar tunes. However, instead of doing a drawing from a box, I will be holding two auctions a semester. The items at the auction will vary, but will consist of some toys, candy, and other prizes. Below are the two Ways in which students can receive dollar tunes.

Dollar Tunes Practice log:

Students have the option to practice 3 times a week (for 1 hour total), perform for parents, fill out their form, and call a performance in for me. Below is the phone number for a google voice account and the number out of their book which they should be working on. If all items are completed and the voicemail performance is sufficient, the student will receive 10 dollar tunes.

Dollar Tunes

I will be telling what students what the piece of the week every Monday. They will need to practice and perform this piece in class on Friday for a possibility of 3 dollar tunes. The amount of dollar tunes received will depend on the quality of performance.

Grading

I will be implement my new grading rubric as the new semester approaches. I will be giving 10 points of participation everyday, along with various opportunities for assignments and extra credit. For more details, please see the syllabus.
