The events that occurred on September 11, 2001 shocked Americans. What started out as an ordinary day, turned into a day that would never be forgotten. On the morning of the attack, people went about their regular routine- stopping at their favorite coffee shop on their way to work, putting on the same pair of shoes that they wear everyday, or walking out the door with the purse that they have used for months. Now these ordinary objects (shoes, purse, receipt from a coffee shop) have become extraordinary in meaning to the people directly involved in the attacks on 9/11.
