Borrowing and returning books

Please make sure your child has a waterproof book bag to protect their school library books.

Borrowing books

Each class visits the library once a week with their teacher. The library is also open every lunchtime and at morning tea break.

Library books are issued for two or three weeks and students can borrow up to four books. If they have not finished reading them they can renew them for two more weeks. They can also go on a waiting list and reserve books.

There are no fines for overdue or lost books

Returning books

It is easy to return books. You can put them in the grey box in the school office or return them to the green monster outside the library. Please encourage your child to return their library books as quickly as possible.

Lost and overdue books

You will receive an email if your child has an overdue library book. If you cannot find the book and think it may be lost please reply to the email. We can then double-check in the classroom and on the library shelves. If the book is still missing we will delete it from the catalogue.

We do not invoice families for lost books. If you would like to pay a donation we suggest $10 per book. You can pay this to the school office.

School Holiday loans

Your child is able to take books home for the holidays. Please do not take any library books away on holiday with you. All books need to be returned to school by the end of Term 4.

National Library books

Each term we order a set of books from the National Library. Students can borrow these books from the school library but they need to be returned to school before the end of term.
