Marist families are responsible for securing all required texts for their child’s courses.
“Textbook” is an umbrella term used for any “anchor text” or primary resource an instructor uses for a course. Anchor texts may include a traditional physical textbook, custom course pack, e-text, and/or digital courseware and should be considered the instructor-approved primary resource for your child’s learning and studying.
Please use the following directions and the “Resources” in the right column of this page when purchasing course materials for your child.
The textbook buying season runs from May through the first day of school in August. In May, carefully review the Marist Textbook List for the upcoming school year, paying close attention to the “NOTES TO PARENTS/STUDENTS” column for important course-specific instructions.
Families are encouraged to take advantage of BNC K-12’s Online Buyback Program in May and June for a possible partial refund on eligible materials. These months are the best time to participate, as BNC K-12 is actively purchasing used materials to stock the bookstore before it opens for the new school year.
The BNC K-12 virtual bookstore opens July 13. Families may use their student’s Marist identification number to “Shop by Schedule,” or they may shop by individual course to select and purchase materials.
Important Reminder: Changes made through the Registrar may take 24–48 hours to appear in the bookstore’s “Shop by Schedule” feature. If schedule changes have not yet updated, families may still use the “Shop by Course” option to make purchases.
Please review the step-by-step ordering instructions before purchasing materials through the bookstore.
When purchasing print materials, be sure to compare new, used, and Marketplace Seller options, as these may offer significant savings. Depending on the course, instructors and BNC K-12 may provide multiple versions of the same anchor text.
Some instructors also offer optional product bundles that include a physical book along with the required digital license. Please pay close attention to whether materials are marked REQUIRED or OPTIONAL, and always review the comments column on the Marist Textbook List for special instructions. Please note that items are listed by product number and not alphabetically or by required versus optional status.
Families must purchase any digital licenses required by the instructor. These licenses ensure compliance with publisher copyright agreements and user requirements for student use.
When purchasing digital products through the BNC K-12 online bookstore, families MUST assign each product to the correct student using the student’s @marist.com email credentials. Students will access digital materials through the “Digital Content” login on the BNC K-12 website using their @marist.com email address and password. BNC K-12 also provides a video tutorial explaining how to assign digital materials.
If an item is listed as “Out of Stock,” families should still complete the purchase to take advantage of free shipping. BNC K-12 will fulfill and ship the order once the materials become available.
The BNC K-12 online bookstore remains open from mid-July through May 1 for the current academic year.
School supplies and organizational tools needed for specific courses will be communicated by instructors on the first day of school.
The Spanish Department requires students to have physical textbooks and workbooks, along with the online subscription license included in the “Print Combo” bundle available through the BNC K–12 bookstore. The Spanish teaching team requires NEW, CLEAN copies of the physical textbook and workbook.
