Lesson 05: Integrated Circuits Project

Description:

We will create Rock Paper Scissors using the collection of IC Circuits and Breadboards. The goal is to move from Logic.Ly virtual simulations to physical builds of the devices with the Bridgold 40pcs IC Kit).

You may use the Arduino Board for Power or clock purposes only for these assignments.

Requirements:

1. Implement Rock-Paper-Scissors using the Bridgold IC chips, buttons, and LED bulbs. Use buttons to represent the input from two players and three LED bulbs to represent the outcomes of A win, B win, or tie. You may use your Logic.Ly Rock-Paper-Scissors as a guide. Use the Arduino 5V out and ground to power your device.

2. Create a Google Doc and name it “Lastname Rock-Paper-Scissors”. On the Google Doc, include the following:

  • Table outlining the components of the project (Chips, buttons, LED's) and their purpose. (Two column table, components in left column and purpose in right column.)

  • Picture of Physical Device

3. Make a video of you demonstrating the device. In the video, point out the following:

  • Which IC chips you chose and why?

  • The button and LED Layout

  • Demonstrate the possible outcomes of A or B winning or ties

4. Upload the video to the Google Classroom assignment.
