Description:
To prepare for the Photoshop Skills test you will complete the following steps. The goal is show competency in the following skills:
1. Saving Pictures from the Internet into your Photoshop Folder
2. Opening and “Saving As” a background image to a .PSD document
3. Use the Clone Stamp Tool
4. Open and select an object to copy and paste into the background document
5. Remove a solid colored background from an image
6. Apply the Outer Glow Layer effect to an object
7. Create Text and Format
For each step below you will search for an image, save, and then apply the Photoshop Skills.
Procedure:
1. Find the following images and save them to your Photoshop Images Folder:
a. Background Image with a clear Horizon and an object.
b. An image of an animal with background
c. An image with a solid colored background
d. An additional image (could be anything!)
2. Start Photoshop and open the Background Image. (Image from ‘a’ above)
3. Save the Background image as “Lastname Skills Practice.psd”
4. Use the Clone Stamp tool to Edit the Background (remove an object from background)
5. Open the image of the animal (‘b’ from above) and use the Quick Select to copy an element of the image to your background
6. Open the image with the solid colored background, (‘c’ from above) and copy to the main image, and remove the solid colored background.
7. Add the additional image (‘d’ from above) and apply Outer Glow
8. Add Text and text effects to the image (Color and Shape)
9. Save and submit the “Lastname Skills Practice.psd” file to the Google Classroom Assignment
