Identify and Focus on a Topic

Project Guidelines:

• Students can select any topic that interests them relevant to African American Studies - whether the topic is formally part of the course framework or not.

Assignment: 

• Scroll through the topics in Units 1-4 listed in the AP African American Studies Course and Exam Description, making a list of at least three events, people, or developments that they find particulary interesting or have questions about. Please take a close look at topics that may not have been addressed in class at this point. You may be interested in more contemporary issues.

• Share and discuss your topic list with a partner. Explain why this topic is important.

• Tertiary and background reading. 

  • Use this WORKSHEET to conduct preliminary research and practice developing new research questions. (Sample)

  • Save at least three sources in NoodleTools.

  • Submit your worksheet HERE by Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
