The Child Care Commission's mission is to lead and support countywide plans and advocacy efforts to ensure access to high quality early care and education services. As the Local Child Care and Development Planning Council (LPC), the Commission provides a forum for the identification of local priorities for child care and the development of policies and strategies to meet the needs identified within those priorities.
April is the Month of the Young Child!
Each year the National Association for the Education of Young Children celebrates the Week of the Young Child. This year, the Child Care Commission in partnership with Marin Child Care Council are celebrating young children for the whole month of April!

Marin County Early Learning Roadmap
The Child Care Commission delighted to share with you the Marin County Early Learning Roadmap . This roadmap has been developed through collaborative efforts across the county over the last year.
This roadmap outlines our vision for the future for early care and education in Marin county and identifies the strategies that we will undertake over the next few years in collaboration and in community with early learning partners throughout the county.
The creation of this Roadmap would not have been possible without the generous funding provided by Marin Community Foundation and their work alongside the County of Marin, the Marin County Office of Education, First 5 Marin, Marin Child Care Council, and the Marin County Child Care Commission. The work of this Task Force and the stakeholder feedback sessions was facilitated by Viva Social Impact Partners.
The Task Force welcomes and needs your support to make this Roadmap come to fruition. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the Marin County Child Care Commission Coordinator, Leah Catching at lcatching@marinschools.org.
The Marin County Early Learning Roadmap will be presented to the Marin County Board of Supervisors and the Marin County Board of Education on April 16 2024. More information can be found at the Board of Supervisors webpage here.
