BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in MARINE TRANSPORTATION (BSMT)

Program Description

The B.S. Marine Transportation Course (BSMT) covers a three-year academic stay at Mariners’ plus one-year training as an apprentice on board sea-going vessels. The course prepares the students as licensed ship deck officers, and allows them to easily transfer into management and operations positions within the transportation, inter-modal and petroleum industries.

The program deals with the study of navigation, cargo handling, stowage, control of safe operations, and care for persons on board the ship at the operational level.

It covers the competencies defined under PQF Level 6 and Table A-II/1 and some elements of Table A-II/2 of the STCW Code.


Why do we need to study BSMT?

To become a competent merchant marine officers of seagoing ships of 500 gross tonnage and above, be qualified to pursue professional advanced studies in all maritime-related fields of specialization.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in MARINE ENGINEERING (BSMarE)

Program Description

The B.S. Marine Engineering (BSMarE) course covers a three-year academic stay at Mariners’ plus a one-year training as an apprentice onboard sea-going vessels. The course prepares students as licensed marine engineering officers and engineering positions in associated shipping and shore side industries.

The program deals with the study of marine propulsion system and its auxiliaries , its operation and maintenance as well as controlling the operation of the ship and care of persons onboard at the operational level of marine engineering. It also deals with electrical, electronics and control engineering.


Why do we need to study BSMarE?

To become a competent Marine Engineers of seagoing ships of 750kw of main propulsion engine and above, be qualified to pursue professional advanced studies in all maritime-related fields of specialization.

Program Description
