Summer Reading 2023: ENGLISH 2 CP
Step 1: Choose a book
First, choose an independent reading book.Â
Requirements:
The book should be appropriate for your reading level.
The book must be fiction OR memoir/autobiography/biography.
Please make sure you discuss your book with your parent or guardian to make sure you are all in agreement that is an appropriate book.
You can purchase your book on your own, or pick it up from the public library. We want you to enjoy what you read, so be sure to choose carefully!
Step 2: READ, think, take notes
Read your book and read it with purpose. Know that you'll be expected to come in and be able to discuss and write about whichever book you choose! While you read, keep track of character development in the book. How does the character/person change and grow throughout the book? How can you tell? Consider using post-it notes or taking notes in a notebook (digital or paper) while reading.
I'm Finished reading. Now What?
When we return to school, you will use your book in class discussion and writing.
