Our Story
As told by Cristian Manzanarez
Our story begins in the early 2000s. During the day, my dad, Ramon, worked as a maintenance supervisor for an apartment community. My mom, Maria, was a stay-at-home mom to me, their only child at the time. But at night, they worked a side job — cleaning commercial properties across Atlanta.
They worked everywhere: offices, taxidermy shops, banks, even art galleries. I have vivid memories of sitting in my stroller, watching them vacuum and mop late into the night. One night at a bank, I wandered over to the vault, pressing buttons on the door and even the panic switches under the teller station. Minutes later, six police cars of Atlanta’s finest pulled into the parking lot with lights and sirens blaring. That was a fun night — though soon after, my parents bought me a Game Boy to keep me busy and away from bank vaults while they worked.
A few years later, my dad was promoted to maintenance supervisor at a condominium building in Atlanta. When he arrived, the property was in rough shape — the previous cleaning company wasn’t doing its job. Instead of outsourcing again, my dad decided to take a chance. He hired a few workers and took over the building’s cleaning himself. The difference was immediate. Residents and management quickly noticed the higher standards, and word began to spread. Referrals started to roll in, and slowly but surely, the business grew.
Fast forward to today, and what started as a side hustle has grown into one of the largest residential janitorial companies in Atlanta. We owe it all to the hard work of our team, the dedication of our family, and the trust and referrals of our clients.
At Maria’s Cleaning Service ATL, we’re still guided by the same values that started it all: family, hard work, and pride in doing the job right
Hey! I’m Jennifer Manzanarez — I’m 21 years old, currently studying marketing, and I work at the office for Maria’s Cleaning. I’m the daughter of Ramon Manzanarez, and I help run things behind the scenes like sending invoices, printing checks, keeping schedules organized, and making sure everything runs smoothly for our clients.
I’ve been around this business my whole life, so it’s second nature to me now. I love staying organized, being efficient, and helping keep our team on track — all while learning and growing through school at the same time.
Outside of work and school, I also run a small cake business from home and work as a cake decorator (yes — I love baking and making things look pretty!). In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, trying new restaurants together, playing pickleball, traveling when I can, and spending time with my bearded dragon.
Thanks for stopping by — if you need anything from our team, I’m always happy to help!
