09/02/2025 - The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC), in coordination with the CNMI Public School System, is conducting contact tracing following the confirmation of a community member with tuberculosis (TB) at Saipan Southern High School.
Contact tracing is part of routine public health protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and the broader community. Individuals identified as close contacts are being notified directly and will be offered testing, evaluation, and appropriate follow-up care.
We want to reassure the public that TB is not easily spread and typically requires prolonged, close contact for transmission. The situation is being managed carefully and poses no immediate risk to the general school population or the public.
CHCC remains committed to transparency and the protection of community health. Further updates will be provided as necessary.
For more information, please contact the CHCC TB Program at (670) 664-4050 or (670) 2368718. (PRESS RELEASE)
