The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has scheduled oral arguments to take place on Saipan at the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands on September 24, 2025.
According to their monthly calendar, three cases will be heard: USA v. Sablan, USA v. Weng, and USA v. Yang.
According to the court calendar, USA v. Sablan is a criminal case originating from Guam regarding an appeal from a sentence imposed upon revocation of supervised release.
In USA v. Weng, “the government appeals a judgment of acquittal in favor of MeiFang Weng, after a jury trial on charges of conspiring to and aiding and abetting the transportation of an illegal alien. HongJiang Yang appeals a judgment in case in which the jury convicted him of the same crimes” in the CNMI.
No information was posted in the calendar for USA v. Yang.
The hearing is scheduled to last just under an hour.
