MVA meets with Skymark Airlines

02/24/25 - Incoming Marianas Visitors Authority Managing Director Jamika Taijeron and outgoing director Christopher Concepcion met with Skymark Airlines leadership on Feb. 19, 2025, at Skymark headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, to discuss flight opportunities from Japan to the CNMI.

According to MVA, they started seasonal charter flights in early 2019 and went to daily regular scheduled flights in Nov 2019. They suspended flights in March 2020 due to the pandemic. They were operating seven flights per week with a capacity of 177 per flight. 

MVA officials met with John Furuya, Skymark Senior Manager, Airport Operations & Planning Section, Airport Operations Department, Airport Division; Hayao Hora, Skymark Representative Director, Chairman and Director; Manabu Motohashi, Skymark Representative Director, President and Executive Officer; Yoshinobu Sato, Skymark Senior Managing Director and Executive Officer; and Tetsuya Okuno, Skymark Executive Officer Corporate Strategy Section, Corporate Planning Department.
